In this double CD album Magda Piskorczyk invites the listeners to a musical journey through her closest sounds, cultures and traditions. Magda Piskorczyk & Slidin' Slim

"Live at Satyrblues"

International release date: September 11, 2010

Magda Piskorczyk Slidin' Slim - Live at Satyrblues

Polish vocalist Magda Piskorczyk and Swedish musician Slidin' Slim performed together at the Satyrblues Festival in Tarnobrzeg, Poland in September 2009. It was their first joint performance, preceded only with a short sound check. Magda and Slim met the evening before at the airport. In the beginning they were supposed to play only for a quarter and in duo. However...

As it was stated in "Gitarzysta" 2010/01 magazine: "Their joint concert was so much liked by the audience that planned 15 minutes turned into 45 and the encore only seemed to intensify hunger for more." The album presents 7 songs. Magda and Slim sing by turns. They both play guitars: Magda - acoustic and Slim - dobro. They are accompanied by two musicians from Magda's band: Aleksandra Siemieniuk on electric guitar and Grzegorz Zawiliński on limited percussion set containing instruments such as a washboard and spoons. In the CD there is a flash video presentation of all the concert too.

SLIDIN' SLIM
Slidin' Slim is a master of a metal guitar called dobro. He is fond of blues and rock'n'roll tradition. However he admits that punk and music of Ramones, The Clash or Dead Kennedys are also important for him. Slim is a talented songwriter and singer with a strong "American" vocal. He belongs to the most popular Swedish bluesmen, regular invited to Scandinavian festivals. Playing his resophonic guitar he is able to enchant the audience with the spirit of old blues masters such as Son House or Bukka White. But he is not afraid of experiments with loops and other trance electronic. In 2007 in the USA he released "One Man Riot" - album which blends modern sounds with classic blues. The concert with Magda is his seventh CD recorded solo, in duos or with his band the Soulbastards. But Slim is not only a musician. Soon his different work will be published: the first novel!

MAGDA PISKORCZYK I SLIDIN' SLIM
Magda Piskorczyk & Slidin' Slim performed twice in September 2009: at the Satyrblues Festival and in Tygmont jazz club in Warsaw. Both concerts, pretty improvised, met enthusiastic reaction of the audience. Slim wrote on his website about the gig in Tygmont: "How should I describe this evening? Perfect must be the word. This was one of the Top-5 best nights since I started playing music on a pro-level! To begin the evening with listening to Magda and her band made me realize (even more!) what a great artist she is. She worked the audience in a way you seldom see among artists today and sang on an amazing level with great backing from Ola's stinging guitar and Greg's solid drumming. To join them and play the night away for the enthusiastic audience in the crowded club was, yeah you’re right; just PERFECT! (We even made it into Spanish television but that's another wonderful story!!!)"
In May 2010 they met on the stage of the Dusty Road Blues Festival in Sweden. The next joint performances... are in plans!

Magda Piskorczyk

"Magda Live"

Release date:: March 10, 2008

Magda Piskorczyk Magda Live

CD "Magda Live" was recorded at RGstudio Radio Gdansk by Magda and her band with very active participation of the audience which was regularly involved in collective singing, clapping hands or stamping their feet, emotional shouting. The album contains 13 acoustic songs full of music with great energy and true emotions, seasoned with two reflective ballads. Magda serves her own tasty arrangements and personal interpretations of a few standards taken from various genres, for example: jazz ("All of Me"), blues ("Walking Blues"), gospel ("Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho"), as well as modern compositions of the authors such as: Tracy Chapman ("Crossroads") or Paul Rodgers ("Muddy Water Blues").

A very unique element of the album is a jazzy version of Jacquesa Brel's song with English text titled "Hearts". The CD contains also multimedia with 15 minutes video fimed at the presented concert.

"I do not know how it was possible to transmit on this lifeless disc vibrations, that were served with music to the audience and returned back with double power. It is success to catch emotions!" Sławek Turkowski, "Feelin' The Blues", Jazz Radio
